Phishing Scam

Below is an example of a Phishing Scam attempting to gain bank account details.

A genuine looking e-mail from a bank that is used to lure users into parting with confidential information.

Note the poor spelling in the above email, eg: "recieved" instead of "received" and "discrepency" instead of "discrepancy". This is often a characteristic of phishing e-mails.

There is a related technique known as Pharming, which attempts to misdirect unwary users to fake web sites in order to obtain their personal information.

The next few pages give examples of Phishing E-mails received from apparently-reputable household-name companies. Would you spot them as fakes?
